A Few Changes to the Subscription Model for Forgotten Archives
Just to give a little background and explanation
First I would like to thank all of you who have subscribed to this Substack page. I started it to share interesting items I came across while doing my research, and as a more suitable means of sharing longer and more detailed posts than possible on other social media. I told myself I would try it for one year and then evaluate the results.
Well a year has almost passed and the reception has been wonderful and the feedback excellent so I want to be able to offer a bit more. To that end I have made changes to the subscription models. I did this to further my goal of sharing my research findings far and wide. Pledges/Subscriptions help support the costs of additional research and documents
The changes will take place December 24, 2024 so I will manually allow all posts to be seen until then. Here are the upcoming changes you can expect.
Free: Those Free Subscribers and Followers will always be able to receive posts and occasional podcasts. Not all of the content will be included for this level so read on to see the few changes I am making which will affect this category. I am also looking into exchanging a Paid Subscription if a Free Subscriber brings in more active Followers and Subscribers. I have to figure out how to setup Substack to do that automatically so stay tuned. I will also be gifting free Subscriptions just to give back.
Subscriber (Pledge): In the past 6 months I have begun to do deep dives into areas such as Operation MARKET resulting in a number of posts/podcasts within a subject series. Currently I am doing the same for the cargo the gliders carried beginning with jeeps. The Free Subscribers and Followers will always get the first in the series free. The remaining in a series will be for Paid Subscribers and Foundation Members.
Foundation Members: So much of my research did not make it into Suicide Jockeys: The Making of the WWII Combat Glider Pilot. This was for many reasons, it would have taken the book off course and down a rabbit hole (albeit a really fascinating one), word limits imposed by my publisher or it just didn’t fit into the book. This content will be available for Foundation Members. In addition I am currently researching for two new potential books: Glider Pilots in the CBI and Glider Pilots in Bastogne (Battle of the Bulge). I will be sharing some of this research with the Foundation Members. I have also made it possible for those interested in being Foundation Members to pledge between Annual Subscription and Foundation Member pricing to suit as many economic situations as possible.
In addition I have offered a reduced pricing until December 24 for Christmas in case you would like to treat yourself or others.
I am open to any feedback and ideas you would like to send my way.
Thank you so much for your support. ~ Monique Taylor
