Navy Gliders

The Army was not alone in experimenting with gliders in the early war years. The Navy equally reluctantly began working on developing its own line of gliders to carry personnel and equipment. The Navy saw uses for gliders in the Pacific campaign as way to move men, equipment and supplies. To this end it was decided in late 1940 to develop their own Marine paratroop and air landed troops.
