So many of the glider missions in WWII are not very well known. I am thrilled to announce that I will be publishing two books on Troop Carrier and Glider Pilots in the Battle of the Bulge - Bastogne. I will be working with Pen & Sword Publishers, a premier publisher of military related books in producing these books. I am deep in research and will be very busy for the next few years reading and writing for the books and this Substack.
In Suicide Jockeys: The Making of the World War II Combat Glider Pilot was always intended to serve as a base for understanding the Glider Pilot Program and to dispel many myths that have grown about it. This time I will dig as deeply into the Siege of Bastogne and the part Troop Carrier, the Pathfinders and the Glider Pilots played in the supporting the encircled troops when they were down to two days worth of ammunition and the medical situation had become critical. It is another wild story of the war, and another that needs to be told. I hope you will all join me on the journey!
Well, it looks like I'll have to store some books to make room in the office for more books! I'll look forwards to these Monique.
