The Veteran’s Breakfast Club hosted a wonderful show on gliders and the glider infantry on their regular programming. For those who would like to view it please follow this link:
This is a great program and organization that supports veterans and tells their stories. Be sure to check them out!
Coming up this week is another article on the legislative history of the Glider Program, which had huge impacts on how and when the glider pilots and the program were established, paid, trained, promoted and the medals they received.
Following that series I will be doing a deep dive into the 551st Parachute Infantry Battalion who experimented with jumping from gliders - not something I think they cared to repeat! I have gotten a soft spot for the 551st and will be doing more research on them - theirs, like the glider pilots, is a story that needs to be told.
Some of the articles will be available to free subscribers. I do like to give special content to those that pledged support, a few before I ever set it up, as a thank you to them.
Foundation Members receive access to all paying subscribers or pledges as well as to information that did not make it into Suicide Jockeys as a thank you.
For more details you can check out the subscription models or stay as a free subscriber. You are always welcome.
Now I can see how I missed this story in my own research, thanks for the information!
